Usage

Dia Browser is operated entirely through its GUI. All features are triggered via keyboard shortcuts, the command bar, or toolbar buttons inside the app. There is no CLI, SDK, or headless mode.

Core workflow: Morning Brief

When you open Dia, the Morning Brief tab loads automatically. It shows:

  • Today's calendar events pulled from Google Calendar
  • Inbox highlights from Gmail
  • Pinned links you have saved

No setup beyond connecting your Google account in Settings > Integrations.

Context Search lets you ask a question and Dia searches across all connected apps plus your open tabs.

  1. Press Cmd+K to open the command bar (or click the search icon in the toolbar)
  2. Type a natural-language question, for example: What did we decide about the Q3 budget in Slack?
  3. Dia queries your connected Slack, Notion, GSuite, and open tabs simultaneously
  4. Results appear as a synthesized answer with source citations you can click through

Core workflow: Synthesis Report

Reports pull scattered context into a single shareable document.

  1. Press Cmd+K and type New Report or click the Reports icon in the sidebar
  2. Describe the topic, for example: Weekly status on the Acme project
  3. Dia searches your connected tools and drafts a report
  4. Review, edit, and share the generated document via a link

Core workflow: Meeting Prep

Before a calendar meeting, Dia surfaces related materials automatically.

  1. Open your Morning Brief and click a calendar event
  2. Dia opens a tab group containing: the meeting invite, linked agenda docs, Notion pages mentioned in the event, and recent Slack threads with the attendees
  3. All context is ready before you join the call

Profiles (work vs personal)

  • Click the Profile icon in the top-right corner of the toolbar
  • Select New Profile and name it (e.g., "Work" or "Personal")
  • Each profile has its own tabs, cookies, and logged-in accounts
  • Switch profiles with Cmd+Shift+P

Splits (side-by-side layout)

  • Right-click any tab and choose Open in Split
  • Or drag a tab to the left or right edge of the window until the split zone appears
  • Save a split layout by clicking Save Layout in the splits toolbar
  • Reopen saved layouts from the Splits menu

Tab organization

  • Dia auto-groups tabs by domain or topic
  • Rename a group by clicking the group label
  • Collapse a group by clicking the chevron next to the label
